ABOUT
Sara Diani is an Afghan-American artist based in Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. Her work explores intimacy, desire, and the emotional architecture of attachment.
Working in oil and soft pastel, Diani focuses on fragments of the body—lingerie, fabric, curves, and the spaces between forms. Through close cropping, color, and negative space, familiar images become abstract and intimate.
Her work moves between softness and restraint, exploring not only what is revealed, but what is withheld.
